Nier Automata is Funny Bigfoot Fishing Shirt one of those games that manage to eclipse your expectations over, and over, and over again until you’re just in awe. I picked it up on a whim one day because I vaguely remembered hearing it was good. What I didn’t expect was for it to be a masterpiece. It’s a shame they didn’t have the time/staff to properly do Kanto. 16 badges in one game?? Gold/Silver are already the goats, but a few more months and it could have been so much better. I had to scroll way too far for this. Definitely Stardew.

Enemy variety and Funny Bigfoot Fishing Shirt kill animations. How many times to I need to drop the giant log on the ogres head?! I absolutely loved this game, easily in my top 10 games of all time, but the big cinematic kills could have used some heavy variety. Personally I’d say Gold/Silver was better. Red/Blue will always have a special place in my heart, the first time going through Viridian forest at 8 years old is a memory I’ll never forget. But Gold and Silver, they built on it and made it better. Getting the first Kanto badge blew my mind.
